Liam Rolfe wrote Skar for his NCEA Composition in 2012 and then we developed it as a band for our first entry into the Smokefree Pacifica Beats Competition. We all wrote our respective parts to it.
Lukas added in a Whaea Korero that he remembered from his childhood as a bridge. We developed it for over a year until we entered the same competition again in 2013, not only taking out best song and best Maori language incorporation for Skar but also taking out 1st place in the National Finals.
